Paradoxical Nature

Love is a shadow in the night,
A flickering flame that feels so right,
Yet in it’s warmth, there’s also fright,
For love is gentle, love is might.

It pulls you close, it draws you near,
Whispers softly in your ear,
But in it’s depths, there’s hidden fear,
A trembling heart, a failing tear.

Love can lift you to the skies,
Show you wonders through it’s eyes,
But in its truth, there are the lies,
The fear of loss, the sad goodbyes.

It holds you tight, it lets you go,
A paradox that we all know,
For in its joy, there’s also woe,
A silent storm, a gentle blow.

To love is brave, to love is bold,
A story waiting to unfold,
But in it’s warmth, there’s also cold,
A haunting fear, a heart that’s sold.

So here we stand, with love in sight,
A dance of shadows, dark and light,
Embracing both, the day and night,
For love is sweet, but love can fright...
